On March 24th, we had our own Gay Straight Alliance during rehearsal. We sent out an invitation to the school of theatre and all the LGBTQ+ clubs on campus to join us for a night of LBGTQ+ storytelling. The stories ranged from happy to difficult moments one experiences during the journey of coming out to oneself and others. Stories were about friends, family, bullying, coming out, treatment in schools, mental health, pride, relationships, etc. Listening to students stories showed the team the diversity of experiences within the LGBTQ+ community. After stories were shared the group created LGBTQ+ themed posters and continued to laugh and connect. As the meeting ended we all left with a sense of community.
